a & e farms sales policies

Reserve your goat today! Our goats are available on a first-come, first-served basis to those who place a deposit.  For individuals seeking information, posing inquiries, or requesting additional photographs, it is essential to note that such actions do not signify a reservation of the goat. We often have multiple inquiries on the same animal. However, the first person to place a deposit secures the goat. If there is a particular doe that you are interested in being bred, we can put you on a reservation list and notify you before placing the kid on the sales page for the general public. If we don't get a deposit within 24 hours after we notify you of the kid, we will offer the kid to the next on the reservation list or place the kid on the sales page. We do reserve the right to cancel reservations on kids. The herd has tested negative for Caprine Arthritis Encephalitis (CAE), Caseous Lymphadenitis (CL), and Johne's. Before joining our herd, any new stock is quarantined and tested with a full bio screen. See our Nigerian dwarf goat page for more information.

Goats are herd animals and require other goats to be healthy and happy. We will only sell a goat by itself if there are other appropriate goats at the new home where it will be.

Upon receipt of a deposit, we will secure the kid until it is prepared to leave our farm. Generally, we permit the dams to rear the kids unless a kid specifically requires bottle feeding. In circumstances where bottle-feeding is needed, we anticipate the kid to be picked up by the age of ten days. The kids that require to be bottle raised are raised on goat milk and then switched over to whole cow milk from the grocery store before they leave to go to new homes where the new owner will continue with whole cow milk until they are weaned, at usually ten weeks for bucks and 12 weeks for does. We appreciate your understanding.

Dam-raised kids will remain until the weaning age of approximately ten weeks old for bucks and 12 weeks old for does. Kids will be disbudded within the first week of life if requested. The cost of disbudding will be the buyer's responsibility. Kids will be vaccinated for CD&T. Coccidia prevention will start at one week of age and will continue until they leave our farm. Further coccidia prevention, vaccinations, and medical care will be the new owner's responsibility. All kids are guaranteed healthy when they leave our farm during the sale. We cannot control any stress from transport, new environment, or changes in feed/care after they leave our farm. Therefore, we cannot offer any further guarantees. A & E Farms is not responsible for any veterinary bills incurred after the animal leaves our farm. Genetic potential is all that can be predicted. Show and production cannot be guaranteed for any animal.

Deposits are 50% of the price of the animal. Deposits are non-refundable and may not be switched from one goat to another. Deposits on kids are only refundable if the kid were to suffer a permanent injury or death before leaving our farm. The balance due will be expected in cash only at pickup. The animal will only leave the farm if paid for in full. A & E Farms reserves the right to retain any kid born for our herd. We reserve the right not to do business with anyone for any reason. By entering into a purchase, you have agreed to the terms of this sales policy.

We accept $100 nonrefundable deposits for each kid born and selected. Once the deposit is received, we will mark the goat "sale pending."

The ADGA now requires all bucks born after January 1, 2024, to have DNA on file before any offspring is registered with ADGA. DNA testing for registration will be at the buyer's expense. For more information, visit:
